A viral video showed an elephant attacking a JCB machine after allegedly being provoked or teased in North Bengal's Jalpaiguri. The incident took place on February 1 when a person reportedly chased the wild tusker and accelerated his vehicle on the muddy ground. The actions disturbed the animal and made it furious, leading to the counter-attack. The footage showed the elephant lifting the JCB with its trunk.

The accused had been arrested by the local police in Malbazar, West Bengal on charges of provoking the animal and attacking it with the machine, The Hindu reported.
