Rumble Strips to Be Installed at 5 Ghodbunder Road Signals to Curb Accidents
The Public Works Department and Traffic Police have been asked by the commissioner to recognise five relevant locations for the experimental installation.

Keeping in mind the road safety of citizens, Thane Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao has ordered the installation of rumble strips at five traffic signals along Ghodbunder Road on a trial basis.
In a meeting held with representatives of the citizens’ group, Justice for Ghodbunder Road, who were keen on setting a speed limit, especially for heavy vehicles near traffic junctions, to avoid accidents.
The Public Works Department and Traffic Police have been asked by the commissioner to recognise five relevant locations for the experimental installation.
If this project proves to be successful, the initiative will be extended to all signals along the stretch.
The Commissioner stressed that all signage and reflectors related to the rumble strips should be scientifically designed and clearly visible, strictly following the guidelines set by the Indian Roads Congress.
