Mumbai: Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) allotted Rs 1,100 crore for the project between the Mumbai Trans Harbour Sealink (MTHL) and Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The project will be completed by February 2027.
The project has two major elevated corridors; one is from the Chirle end of MTHL to Gavan Phata, and the other is from Palaspe Phata to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
Expressways are constructed all over India; also, they have positive restrictions like high speed, not being able to stop on the expressway, and many more. This new expressway from Mumbai-Pune will give the best experience to travel and a smooth journey on the road. The new line will resolve the problem and reduce the time and more, ensuring safety on the road.
The corridor between Chirle and Gavan Phata will be a six-lane structure built above the JNPT-Panvel National Highway (NH-348), and the service road will also be rebuilt, as per reports by Mumbai Live.
The project being carried out by Gawar Construction Ltd at Rs 1102.75 crore is scheduled for completion in February 2027. It is expected to reduce the traffic between the major junctions and improve connectivity between Atal Setu and the Mumbai-Pune expressway. The work has already begun.
Mumbai-Pune Expressway Closed For 6 Months
The Mumbai-bound exit at Panvel (1.200 km) on the Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai-Pune Expressway is closed for six months already started from February 11 due to construction work at Kalamboli Circle.
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is building a new flyover and underpass as part of the Kalamboli Junction upgrade project.
