Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh): Cabinet minister Nagar Singh Chouhan performed the bhoomi pujan on Sunday for two major infrastructure projects in Sorwa village - a 33 KV electricity grid worth Rs 3.25 crore and a 9.20-kilometre road project estimated at Rs 13.69 crore.
Addressing a large gathering, Chouhan said the projects fulfill a key promise he made before the elections to tackle chronic power shortages and poor road connectivity in the region.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, we aim to bring consistent development to rural and tribal areas,” he said.
Until now, the region received electricity alternately from Alirajpur and Sodwa, severely impacting farming and daily life. The new grid is expected to provide a permanent solution to power irregularities. Similarly, the road from Pratap Falia to Darwadia Falia will enhance transportation and accessibility for residents.
The event was attended by former MLA Mukam Singh Kirade, BJP district president Maku Parwal, collector Dr Abhay Arvind Bedekar, and other senior officials.
Chouhan also used the occasion to promote Mission 3D, a social reform initiative aimed at reducing extravagant expenses in tribal weddings and encouraging simpler ceremonies.
