Good News For Mumbaikars! Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)-Colaba Metro Phase 2A Stretch Of Metro 3 To Likely Begin Operations By March 2025
BKC-Colaba metro phase 2A will be soon in service for Mumbaikars, from the end of March. 93.1 percent of total work on this route is completed so far.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is set to start service phase 2A of Metro line 3, connecting Colaba to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), by the end of March 2025, according to reports.
Currently, 93.1% of the overall work on this stretch has been completed, while 98.9% of station-related construction is also finished. The remaining architectural and system installations are expected to be completed soon, reported Mumbai Live.
MMRC is actively working to ensure the smooth operation of this metro corridor, which is expected to significantly ease commuting between Colaba and BKC.

Additionally, it will help reduce congestion on existing metro lines in Mumbai. The focus now is on completing the BKC-Colaba phase as soon as possible.
About Mumbai Underground Metro
In October 2024, the Mumbai Underground Metro commenced operations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the Metro line that connects Aarey Colony JVLR to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).
“The metro network in Mumbai has expanded, and the ease of life of the citizens will get a boost! Congratulations to Mumbaikars on the inauguration of Aarey JVLR to BKC route under the first phase of Mumbai Metro Line 3,” Modi wrote on X after the inauguration.

Metro Line 3 between BKC and Aarey, which was inaugurated by PM Modi, has 10 stations on the line.
Stations are BKC, Bandra Colony, Santacruz, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) T1, Sahar Road, CSMIA T2, Marol Naka, Andheri, SEEPZ, and Aarey Colony JVLR.
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is running 96 services on a daily basis on metro line 3. The line between Aarey-BKC connects both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Also links to the Mumbai metro line 1 Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova at Marol Naka stations.
