Chhattisgarh: Headmaster Accused Of Harassing 9 Minor Girls Suspended; FIR Filed

Surajpur/Surguja: A headmaster teaching in middle school in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh accused of inappropriately touching the private parts of the nine minor girl students has been suspended.

An FIR has been lodged against the accused absconding headmaster.

As per the information received, the headmaster was continuously carrying out sexual harassment of the minor girl students studying in classes 6th to 8th for the last one year. It has created an atmosphere of horror in the minds of the minor girl students.

Meanwhile, recently, an awareness program was organized in the school where the students were informed about good touch and bad touch. The awareness programme triggered a sense of courage in the minds of victim girls and while mustering courage they complained against the headmaster to the female teacher of the school.

As an impact, the girls lodged a complaint on the toll free number 109 on 24 March. It created a stir in the administration. Taking the cognizance of the serious nature of the complaint, Collector S. Jaivardhan formed an investigation team of three officers including Surajpur SDM Shivani Jaiswal, District Education Officer Bharti Verma and District Child Protection Officer Manoj Jaiswal.

On the basis of the investigation report, Surguja Education Joint Director Hemant Upadhyay the accused headmaster Mohammed Rauf has been suspended.

Meanwhile, Kotwali police station in-charge Vimlesh Dubey informed the media, FIR has been lodged against relevant sections of BNS, raids are continuing and soon the absconding accused will be arrested.

Kotwali police station in-charge Vimlesh Dubey said that the development block education officer of Surajpur has filed a written complaint against the headmaster. A case has been registered against the accused headmaster and a team has been formed. The absconding accused will be arrested soon.
