Bhopal: Doctor Fined ₹15,000 For Dumping Bio-Medical Waste In Open | Representative Image
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Municipal Corporation on Sunday imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on a doctor over dumping bio-medical waste in the open.
The doctor had thrown the medical waste on a vacant plot in the area between Girdhar Road and Salaiya Road in Ward 83 of Zone 18.
During routine surveillance, municipal staff discovered medical waste discarded on a vacant plot. The sanitation worker found a slip mentioning a mobile number and address in the waste, which led them to identify the offender as Dr Rishabh Gupta.

Assistant Health Officer (AHO) Madhusudan Tiwari and his team carried out an inspection and following the confirmation, the civic body imposed a fine on Gupta for violating public health and sanitation norms by disposing of hazardous medical waste in a public place.

The corporation has warned Dr Gupta against repeating the offence. AHO Tiwari said that BMC reiterated their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and taking firm action against those who endanger the environment and public safety through such negligence.
