After losing the pink ball test in Adelaide, Team India reached Brisbane to play the thrid test match with the series leveled at 1-1. The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is slated to be played at the iconic Gabba, in the River City, starting on Saturday, December 14. Why was Yashasvi Jaiwal left behind?
As per a report, the Team India bus was expected to begin its journey towards the airport at around 8:30 am, as per local time. However, Jaiswal was late to come out of the team hotel which irked captain Rohit Sharma. With the flight to Brisbane scheduled for 10:05 am the players started to board the bus around 8:20 am.
Jaiswal was nowhere to be seen and after waiting for a few minutes near the gate of the bus, Rohit after a word with the team manager and the liaison officer headed back to the bus. Soon, the vehicle left for the airport at around 8:50 am. The opener checked out of the hotel five minutes after the bus had departed. He boarded a car along with the team's security officer and started his journey towards the airport.
Team India returns to breach Gabba once again
The Indian cricket team reached Brisbane with good memories from the match between both teams in 2021. India had breached the Gabba fortress becoming the first team in 33 years to win a Test match at the iconic venue in Brisbane.
Despite having fresh faces in the team due to injuries to key players, India went on to chase 328 runs in the final innings and won the series 2-1 led by stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane. With Australia's confidence at all time high can Team India breach Gabba yet again?
