The dismissal occurred in the eighth over of the innings and the first sent down by champion spinner Ravindra Jadeja. After West Indian opener John Campbell welcomed Jadeja with a boundary, the left-hander played a strong sweep. Although Sai Sudharsan was trying to dodge the ball, it stuck onto his chest. Nevertheless, the youngster was grimacing in pain as the ball also hit his finger. The southpaw had to walk off the field to get some treatment.
