Team India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah's wife Sanjana Ganesan brutally trolled her husband, having claimed that the right-arm speedster proposed the idea to elope and marry. Ganesan, who works as an ICC presenter, said Bumrah doesn't even sprint during his bowling run-up; hence, there is no chance he would elope and marry.
Bumrah, one of the best all-format bowlers going around, has also amongst the peculiar bowling actions the sport has witnessed in history. While the 31-year-old sprints slowly into the bowling crease, the hyperextension and release point allows him to deliver the bowl in a speed that is sometimes too difficult for batters to judge.
Speaking to Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra on the show, 'Who's the boss', Ganesan talked about their marriage and said:
"So Jasprit has said, chalo bhaag ke karte hain. I said, 'tum toh run-up mein bhi nahin bhaagte, mere saath kya bhaagoge."
Jasprit Bumrah set to be rested for second Test against England
On the cricketing side of things, the Ahmedabad-born cricketer is all set to be rested for the second Test against England in Birmingham, set to commence on July 2 due to workload management, according to reports.
Bumrah's workload has also been considerably heavy during Team India's five-wicket defeat at the Headingley in Leeds. He sent down 24.4 overs in the first innings, followed by 20 in the second, notably going wicketless in the latter. Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep are the two other spare bowlers in the squad but the tourists will find themselves under pressure without Bumrah, who is a bona fide wicket-taker.
The tourists need to win the second Test as a 0-2 deficit will be extremely difficult to turn around.
