Former Australian cricketer Stuart Law has turned to LinkedIn to search for coaching roles after being sacked from the role for the United States' cricket team due to discrimination against Indian-origin players. According to reports, the relationship between the players and coach turned sour following the T20 World Cup 2024 and the Netherlands tour.
Law, who featured for Australia in 1 Test and 54 ODIs from 1994 to 1999 has significant experience in the cricket coaching. Having coached USA most recently, he also served in the same capacity for Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Law had a fairly successful stint with the USA, helping them register a T20I series over Bangladesh and a victory over former champions Pakistan in the T20 World Cup last year.
Report says Stuart Law held a malicious outlook to bring the downfall of the team
As per a report from Cricbuzz, players had written a letter which alleged '‘his malicious outlook towards a few players has brought the team environment to its lowest ebb’ and that he lied quite a lot to deceive the players. Furthermore, the 56-year-old's alleged discrimination was mostly against 7-8 players, most of which included the Indian-origin ones, including skipper Monank Patel.
It remains to be seen whether Law finds a coaching gig, given the reports that have come out.
