Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) keeper-batter hammered the longest six of the match when they locked horns against the SunRisers Hyderabad at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The veteran cricketer struck a maximum that hit the roof of the stadium and was later measured to have travelled an astonishing 108 meters.

The incident occurred in the 16th over of the innings bowled by left-arm seamer T Natarajan. The bowler went full on the leg-stump and Karthik didn't miss the opportunity as he flicked to the leg-side, thereby travelling a long way. SunRisers skipper Pat Cummins was left at a loss of words by that shot.

Dinesh Karthik's 35-ball 83 goes in vain as RCB crash to their 6th defeat:

Karthik, who is playing his last IPL edition, top-scored for the home side with 83 in 35 deliveries, hammering 5 fours and 7 sixes. However, the Royal Challengers still fell 25 runs short of the target of 288.

Earlier, RCB captain Faf du Plessis sent the Orange Army into bat after winning the toss. However, SunRisers openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma launched a brutal assault on the opposition bowlers. Head needed only 20 balls to reach his half-century and 39 to get to the magical three-figure mark. Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, and Abdul Samad also played their significant effect.

As far as the Royal Challengers are concerned, Du Plessis and Karthik hit half-centuries, but it wasn't enough to prevent their 6th loss. The 549-run tally proved to be the highest in a T20 match.
