Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf made a mess of what seemed a straightforward catch in the fifth and final T20I against New Zealand on Wednesday at the Sky Stadium in Wellington. However, the right-arm speedster seemed to have lost the ball in the air as it went straight through his hands over the fence for six.
The incident occurred in the 11th over of the innings sent down by Shadab Khan as Tim Seifert opened it with a six by hammering a short-pitched ball from the leg-spinner. Seifert and Daryl Mitchell rotated the strike, with the former coming back on to bat for the next three deliveries. The keeper-batter hammered a full and wide ball to deep cover and Rauf had positioned himself well to catch the ball before dropping it. The 30-year-old hammered two sixes off the next couple of deliveries to finish off the game.

Among Pakistan's batters, only Salman Ali Agha stood up as he made 51 but the tourists finished with a paltry 128 in 20 overs.
Salman Ali Agha hopes different team will bring new energy in the ODI leg
Speaking at the post-game presentation after the 4-1 series defeat, Salman said they are highly disappointed to lose the series but the focus is firmly on Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. He stated:
"They were outstanding. We had some positives. Hasan batted well, Sufiyan did well... When we were coming here, we know it's a young side, focus is Asia cup and World cup. We will give them more games and when they have experience they will come good. I did alright but it doesn't matter when you lose the series. It's going to be a good series (ODI). It will be a different ball game and it's a completely different team."
The three-game ODI series begins on March 29 in Napier.
