Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Smriti Mandhana's reaction went viral during a press meet when asked her feeling about sharing the same jersey number with Virat Kohli, with the 2025 edition of the Women's Premier League looming. Mandhana had reportedly urged the journalist to stick to women's cricket instead of going to the men's game since it's time for the WPL.
In a video that surfaced on social media, the star Indian cricketer looked down and smiled subtly as soon as a reporter asked about sharing the 18 number jersey with Kohli. As revealed by a journalist on social media, Mandhana replied by stating, "We are here to talk about WPL, so let's stick to women's cricket"
Below is the video of the journalist asking the question to Mandhana:
"The girls are looking all prepped up" - Smriti Mandhana
With RCB looking to defend their title successfully but also having injury troubles this year, the 28-year-old said that's something out of their control. However, the left-handed batter feels their pre-season camp has placed them in good stead. Mandhana said, as quoted by PTI:
"Really looking forward, had a good camp in Bengaluru. The girls are looking all prepped up, lot of young ones who have come in, got a lot of energy and the overseas players have also joined us in the last 2-3 days so looks like a complete squad and looking forward to the third edition. Injuries have been a big impact in the last one-and-a-half months for us post the auctions but injuries are something which are not in our hands. We had a good auction, we got really good youngsters and our overseas replacements are also quality players."
