Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli threw his cap in frustration as Jitesh Sharma and Yash Dayal collided while attempting a catch off Suryakumar Yadav's catch in the IPL 2025 game against the Mumbai Indians. In a video surfaced on social media, not only did Kohli throw his cap in anger but also yelled to express his discontent.
The incident occurred in the 12th over of the innings as Suryakumar Yadav took a big swipe at the length ball from the left-arm seamer. It hardly went further than the bowler, who attempted the catch along with Jitesh. However, they both collided and the ball went on the ground. However, the right-handed batter didn't survive in the crease for long and perished for 28 in the same over.
Meanwhile, below is the video of Virat Kohli venting out his frustration:
Kohli, nevertheless, played a vital role in RCB's 12-run victory over the Mumbai Indians as he top-scored with 67 off 42 deliveries. With the visitors leaving Mumbai 222 to chase down, they managed to hold them off and eventually win by 12 runs.
"This award goes to the bowling unit" - Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar, who earned the Player of the Match award for his 32-ball 64, largely credited the bowling unit for holding off Mumbai Indians the way they did at this venue, given it favours the team batting second. The RCB captain said at the post-match presentation:
"It was a really amazing match. It was very hard. The way the bowlers have shown their courage, it was amazing to watch. This award goes to the bowling unit. It is not easy to stop any team, especially at this ground, and the way they have done it, was incredible. The way the fast bowlers executed their plans was amazing."
