Mohammed Siraj emerged as the pick of the bowlers with four wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah snared three as Team India bowled the West Indies out for 162 on Day 1 in Ahmedabad. West Indies' innings lasted 44.1 overs as only six of their batters made it to double figures as Justin Greaves top-scored with 32.

West Indies finished their first session at 99/5, with skipper Roston Chase and Justin Greaves at the crease. India dominated West Indies in the first session as pacer Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah dismissed the top order. Siraj had two wickets, while Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav took a wicket each. India captain Shubman Gill pulled off a DRS masterstroke, helping Bumrah get his wicket. Kuldeep, who is making a comeback into the Indian Test side, delivered a wicket in just his second over.
