Nitish Kumar Reddy's family surprised him with a heartfelt visit to his hotel room after he scored his maiden century during the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) captured and shared the touching moment on social media, where emotions ran high as Nitish's family embraced him.
His father Mutyalu and sister Tejaswi Reddy, and mother were all present for the special occasion. When Nitish opened the door to see his family, he was taken by surprise and hugged them tightly.
Overwhelmed with pride, his father said, “Nitish played really well, and I’m feeling very proud today. We have struggled a lot.” He also expressed his gratitude to the Indian team, saying, “We are thankful to the Indian team.”
Nitish's sister, Tejaswi Reddy, praised her brother’s determination and hard work. “His journey wasn’t easy. We are so proud of him. All I can say is that he said it and did it,” she shared.

The duo's efforts ensured India ended Day 3 on a high note, despite the stumps being called early due to bad light and rain. India finished the day at 358/9, trailing by 116 runs but showed immense resilience. after resuming at 164/5.
