Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer and PSG winger Ousmane Dembele participated in an official FIFA photoshoot on top of the Rock at Rockefeller Centre in New York alongside the Club World Cup trophy.
The two stars represented their respective clubs in the promotional event a day before their teams face each other in the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The photoshoot featured both players in their club jerseys with the Manhattan skyline and the prestigious trophy creating a dramatic backdrop.
Chelsea looks to stop PSG juggernaut
Chelsea punched their ticket to the final of the global showpiece event on the back of two goals from new signing Joao Pedro against former club Fluminense. Chelsea have lost just one game in the Club World Cup after going down against Brazilian outfit Flamengo in the group stage.
PSG made the final two after dismantling Real Madrid 4-0 in their semi-final match. The European champions also suffered just one loss against Brazil’s Botafogo in the group stage.
The Parisians will be looking to add the Club World Cup title to their trophy cabinet after completing the treble by winning their first-ever UEFA Champions League crown last month
Victory at the Club World Cup, followed by triumphs in the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, will see Luis Enrique’s side become the first club to complete a septuple.
PSG & Chelsea's route to the final
PSG have been the outstanding team of the Club World Cup, having won matches against Atlético Madrid (4-0), Bayern Munich (2-0) and Real Madrid (4-0) to make it to the final.
On the other hand, Chelsea needed a win in their final group game against Esperance Sportive de Tunis to reach the knockout stages after a 3-1 defeat against Flamengo put their progression at risk. Since reaching the round of 16, though, Chelsea have had luck on their side.
Bayern's surprise group-stage loss to Benfica meant that Chelsea avoided the Bundesliga giants and faced the Portuguese team in the round of 16. eventually winning 4-1 after extra time in Charlotte, North Carolina. Chelsea then defeated Brazilian teams Palmeiras (2-1) and Fluminense (2-0) to secure a clash against PSG in the final.
