Dharmendra Death: Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, IPL Franchises Pay Tribute As Bollywood Legend Passes Away At 89

Sports and Cinema in India have a unique connection and the former joined in when the latter lost one of their legends. Veteran actor Dharmendra Deol breathed his last on Monday at the age of 89. In a 65-year career, the 'He-Man' of Bollywood delivered several smash hits on the screen.

Former India opening batter Shikhar Dhawan paid a rich tribute to the veteran actor.

"You stood tall, not just in stature, but in spirit. Dharmendra ji, thank you for showing us strength can be kind. Om Shanti," Dhawan wrote on X.

Olympic medalist Vijender Singh also expressed his condolences on social media.

Suresh Raina also penned a rich tribute to the veteran actor.

"Dharamendra ji was not just a superstar—he was emotion, charm, and the soul of an entire generation of cinema. Thank you for the memories you gave us. Rest in peace, He-Man of Bollywood. Om Shanti," he wrote on X.

Yuvraj Singh expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family.

"Every home had a favourite Dharmendra film. He was a part of our growing up and of Indian cinema’s finest years. He brought strength, charm and honesty to every role, and carried Punjab’s warmth wherever he went. Behind the fame was a humble, grounded and deeply human soul. His legacy will live on in the hearts of millions," Singh wrote on X.

IPL franchises Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings also expressed their sadness at the Bollywood legend's demise.

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away at his Mumbai residence on Monday (November 24). He was 89. His last rites took place at Pawan Hans Crematorium. Several celebrities and family members also showed up to pay their final respects to the renowned actor at the crematorium.
