Champions Trophy 2025: BCCI Takes U-Turn On Family Travel Policy, Wives & Parents Allowed To Attend One Match, Says Report

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has mellowed down on it's stance on Team India player's Family Travel Policy ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. According to the Dainik Jagran report, BCCI have allowed family members to watch one Champions trophy match but only after receiving approval from the board.

Team India are currently in Dubai where they are preparing for the Champions Trophy tournament. After a disappointing tour in Australia as a result, several scrutiny and aftermath meetings led to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) releasing a ten-point diktat document, leading to restructuring of how the management functions and the way forward for the team along with new travel policies.

The BCCI in their tenpoint policy had announced that families cannot join players for the entire tour and will be allowed with them for two weeks for series that are longer than 45 days.

Even if India reaches the 2025 Champions Trophy final scheduled to take place on March 9, the team is going to stay in Dubai for a maximum of 25 days, having arrived on February 15.

Team India's Champions Trophy Schedule

India’s campaign will kick off against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Stadium. on Thursday, February 20. The high-voltage match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to take place in Dubai on Sunday (February 23), and in its third Group A match, India will face New Zealand at the same venue on March 2.

The first semifinal will be played in Dubai on March 4, and the final, if India qualifies for it, will also take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 9. India will not playing matches in Pakistan due to political tensions between both the countries.
