'Abhishek Sharma Beats England By 38 Runs': Netizens Brutally Troll Visitors After Suffering Their Heaviest T20I Defeat

England cricket team abjectly surrendered in the fifth and final T20I against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, losing by 150 runs and the series 4-1. With the entire England team scoring 38 runs less than Abhishek Sharma's individual score, netizens have brutally trolled them for the same.

After opting to bowl first, Jos Buttler's bowlers hardly had any answers to Abhishek Sharma, who hammered boundaries for fun. Abhishek, who plundered a quick-fire 79 in the first T20I, spared no England bowler as he reached his half-century only in 17 balls. The southpaw needed only 20 more deliveries to get to the three-figure mark for the second time in T20Is. His 135 also set the record for the highest individual score by an Indian in T20Is as the hosts set England 248 to chase down.

In reply, the tourists went hammer and tongs from the outset as Phil Salt led the charge. At the same time, England kept losing wickets while trying to hit boundaries. The likes of Varun Chakravarthy, Abhishek Sharma and Shivam Dube struck with their first ball. The Englishmen eventually collapsed to 97 all out, lasting only 10.3 overs.

Here's how the netizens have reacted to England's defeat:

The caravan of the limited-overs series will move to the 50-over games that kicks off on February 6 in Nagpur.
