'What A Joke': Netizens Laugh Off Viral Post Calling Pune A 'Pedestrian Paradise' | X/@Team_Road_Squad
An X (formerly Twitter) account named Team Road Squad, which, according to its bio, promotes "road safety in India", recently took to the microblogging site and called Pune a "pedestrian paradise." The post included a few photos of footpaths from select areas of the city. However, the claim sparked laughter among Punekars.
"I run on these exact footpaths, and I want to congratulate the photographer(s) for taking these carefully curated photos (if these pics are unedited). Otherwise, there are spots which can easily twist your ankle or knee that are centimetres away," a user commented.
"No doubt... Such is the traffic discipline in Pune that pedestrians are sent straight to paradise," another user wrote sarcastically.
"Seems that you've clicked the pics in the summer season between 1–4 pm," a third user joked.
When a fourth user mocked, "Are you mentally challenged?", Team Road Squad commented, "Dear sir, definitely there are challenges in infrastructure maintenance. The post is intended to show pedestrian infrastructure and encourage positivity. We all know India is developing, and a lot of improvements are needed. In many parts of the country, even this space is not there."
