In yet another swift and heroic response, the Erandwane Fire Brigade successfully rescued a 20-year-old youth trapped in a riverbed near Pandit Farm, adjacent to D.P. Road, on Monday morning.
At approximately 8:30 AM, the Erandwane Fire Station received an emergency call reporting a boy stuck in the riverbed. Without delay, the fire brigade rushed to the scene with a fire engine and initiated a well-coordinated rescue operation.
Using safety gear including a life jacket, rope, and rescue ring, the team managed to pull the youth to safety within just ten minutes of arrival.
The rescued youth has been identified as Vedant Kulkarni, a resident of Erandwane. He was immediately transported to Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in a government ambulance for medical evaluation and treatment.
