VIDEO: Pune Delivery Boy Falls Off Bike On Waterlogged Road Amid Heavy Rain, Locals Come To His Aid

Pune was battered by heavy rainfall on Thursday, with several areas reporting waterlogging. Amid this, a video of a delivery boy has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the delivery boy is seen trying to manoeuvre his bike through a waterlogged street amid heavy rain. However, he loses his balance and falls on the road. His leg gets stuck under the bike. Fortunately, locals come to his aid and help him get back on his feet. The fall, however, opened his delivery box, spilling the items he was carrying.

This video once again highlights the risks delivery boys face, especially those under pressure to meet the 10-minute deadlines.

Meanwhile, Thursday's rain was the highest rainfall in the month of April in Pune since 1896. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Khadakwasla reported the highest rainfall of 104.2 mm from 3:30 pm to 5 pm on Thursday, followed by Sinhagad Road at 100.2 mm, Kondhwa-Yewalewadi at 92.2 mm, Bibvewadi at 81.4 mm and Kothrud-Bavdhan at 66.6 mm.

The rain is expected to continue as the IMD has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning and rain in Pune and its suburbs till April 4.
