Travelers planning to enjoy their long weekend encountered familiar challenges of heavy traffic congestion on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Friday and Saturday.
On Thursday, a massive traffic jam was reported on the Pune lane of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, stretching up to five to six kilometers from Amrutanjan Bridge to Adoshi Tunnel.
The congestion, which began early Thursday morning, is being attributed to the long weekend rush, with drivers stuck in long queues and facing significant delays.
Despite the presence of highway police, the situation has not improved, and traffic movement remains slow.
Commuters are enduring severe hardships, with many vehicles barely moving.
Meanwhile, the authorities are urging drivers to exercise patience, but the ongoing traffic snarls are causing major inconvenience for travelers heading towards Pune.
