In a first, 500 Dhol-Tashas performed on Independence Day in Pune to honour the spirit of Operation Sindoor and the courage of the Indian Armed Forces. The performance under the 'Tiranga Festival’ aims to salute the soldiers of the Indian Army and their work.
Kiran Sali Mitra Parivar and Dhol Tasha Federation, Maharashtra organized the Tiranga Festival and this is the first time such a festival is being held in the state. More than 500 musicians from the Dhol Tasha teams of Pune under Dhol Tasha Federation Maharashtra performed it together.
The event aimed to pay tribute to the heroes of 'Operation Sindoor' and 'Operation Mahadev' through Dhol Tasha performance. Five brave wives of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country will be honored in the Tiranga Festival. Apart from this, cultural programs like Bharatanatyam, percussion concert, song program, live performance will also be held.
Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe, Padmashri Murlikant Petkar will be the dignitaries attending the event to follow.
The program which began has been scheduled from 4 pm to 8 pm, in front of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Udyan on Jangli Maharaj Road near Bal Gandharva Rangmandir in Pune.
India destroyed nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir with precision strikes in May as part of Operation Sindoor in response to the April 22 Pahalgam massacre in which 26 persons were killed by terrorists.
Against the symbolic backdrop of Shaniwar Wada, the Bombay Sappers' performance at the event, titled 'Echoes of Valour- A Tribute Through Tunes', will blend ceremonial grandeur with patriotic melodies, evoking pride, unity and heartfelt remembrance of the sacrifices that safeguard India's freedom, a defence release said on Tuesday.
