The problems for Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital are not ending soon as the committee probing into the death of a pregnant woman, allegedly denied admission by the hospital in Pune for a ₹10 lakh deposit, has blamed the hospital and stated that it violated norms by demanding advance payment.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra State Women's Commission Chief Rupali Chakankar has already blamed the hospital for the death of the woman as she was denied primary care for 5.5 hours. She also indicated that a case is likely to be filed against the hospital after the pending reports are released.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sushrut Ghaisas, the doctor who found himself at the center of the controversy, has resigned from the hospital.
Tanisha Bhise, the wife of the personal secretary of BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe, died at another facility after giving birth to twin daughters.
The family of Tanisha Bhise, the pregnant woman who allegedly lost her life after being denied admission by Mangeshkar Hospital, has alleged that Dr. Ghaisas, the treating doctor, asked them to deposit ₹10 lakh before starting treatment. She subsequently died at another hospital.

Dr. Sushrut Ghaisas is one of the well-known obstetrician, gynecologist, and fetal medicine specialists based in Pune. He was working as a consultant for obstetrics, gynecology, and fetal medicine at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Erandwane, Pune. He is known for his knowledge and expertise, focusing on fetal medicine, the management of high-risk pregnancies, and ultrasound diagnostics.
Dr. Ghaisas earned his MBBS degree from B J Medical College & Sassoon Hospital in Pune. Additionally, he holds a fellowship in Fetal Medicine from King’s College London and Royal Free Hospital in London.
The hospital website, which hosts information about various doctors, has removed Dr. Ghaisas' profile from the website.
