Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi, on Wednesday, provided updates on various other infrastructure projects, including the State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) ring road and the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) ring road.
He shared the information during a conversation organised by the Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh. On this occasion, President of the Patrakar Sangh, Sunit Bhave, and General Secretary, Meenakshi Gurav, were present.
MSRDC's Outer Ring Road
The work on MSRDC's outer ring road is underway at some places, as 90 percent of the land acquisition has already been done. The road will be ready in the next two and a half years.
The Pune Outer Ring Road, developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), is a 138-kilometre-long, access-controlled highway with 4 to 6 lanes, aimed at reducing traffic congestion and enhancing regional connectivity around Pune.
Speaking about the project, Dudi said, "Ninety percent of the land acquisition for the MSRDC's outer ring road has been completed. Therefore, actual ring road work is underway in some areas. In some places, there may be changes in land requirements, and land acquisition will have to be adjusted accordingly. The aim is to complete the ring road within the next two and a half years."
PMRDA's Inner Ring Road
The pre-land acquisition process for the PMRDA's inner ring road is also currently underway.
The Pune Inner Ring Road, an ambitious 83-kilometre project proposed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), is set to ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity across the city. The road will link Pune-Satara Road to Ahmednagar Road, with the land acquisition process currently in progress.
"The work of land acquisition started last month and will be completed in three months. The work on the project would begin soon after that," Dudi said.
