The accused has been identified as Kumar Kalgonda Patil (42), a native of Kolhapur. According to the police, Reshma Kude had married Patil after the death of her first husband. Kude had two children from her first marriage. After their marriage, they both settled in Narhe a few months ago. Kumar worked as a laborer in a lodge in the Saswad area.

A case of murder has come to light from the Sinhagad Police jurisdiction, where a husband strangled his wife with a scarf, suspecting her character. The incident took place at Manaji Nagar in Narhe on Friday around 6 pm. The name of the murdered woman is Reshma Bhiju Kude (32), a resident of Narhe.
The accused has been identified as Kumar Kalgonda Patil (42), a native of Kolhapur. According to the police, Reshma Kude had married Patil after the death of her first husband. Kude had two children from her first marriage. After their marriage, they both settled in Narhe a few months ago. Kumar worked as a laborer in a lodge in the Saswad area.
On the day of the incident, Kumar returned home after completing his work around 5 pm. Meanwhile, a heated argument occurred between them over the suspicion of Reshma's character. The argument later turned violent, and in a fit of anger, Kumar strangled his wife with her scarf.
Upon hearing the screams, neighbors intervened and found Reshma lying on the floor. They immediately informed the police control room.
Sagar Pawar, Police Sub Inspector (Sinhagad Road Police Station), speaking to the Free Press Journal, said, "We have arrested the accused from the spot. However, the matter is under investigation. Soon, everything will be on the table."
A case has been registered under Section 302 (deals with the punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
