Dehu Road: A Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus driver went into full rogue mode when it encountered traffic on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway near the Dehu Road area.
Being a Sunday, the road was packed with traffic. On top of that, evening hours meant a heavy rush of people returning from Lonavala and other tourist destinations north of Pune District.
When the PMPML bus driver spotted traffic congestion near Dehu Road Central Chowk, a key intersection that connects Katraj Dehu Road Bypass with the old Mumbai-Pune Highway, he decided to take a reckless action. Through a gap in the divider, he drove the vehicle straight onto the wrong side, just to avoid traffic. This was captured on video.

Eyewitnesses then claimed that, taking advantage of the bus's lead, multiple other vehicles did the same. They followed the bus to beat the traffic. This is seen as a totally reckless move because the old Mumbai-Pune Highway is a chaotic place, with weekends always witnessing heavy traffic. This is a move that potentially puts the lives of commuters, passengers inside the bus and the bus driver himself at risk.
