Pimpri-Chinchwad: A disturbing incident has been reported from Bhosari, where a woman and her son were allegedly assaulted and threatened with a sword over suspicions of witchcraft. The incident took place on Wednesday evening, around 8:30 pm, in Mahatma Phule Nagar.

The complainant, Divya Anil Kasbe (34), a resident of Chakrapani Wasahat, has filed a case at MIDC Bhosari Police Station (under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate). Based on her complaint, police have booked Aman Vikas Kasbe (20) and a 17-year-old minor in connection with the case.

According to police reports, the incident occurred when Divya Kasbe had stepped out to pick up her daughter. At that time, her sister-in-law allegedly confronted her and accused her husband of performing black magic, also known locally as "karni". The argument quickly escalated into a violent altercation.

Police said the accused abused and physically assaulted the woman and her son during the dispute. In the middle of the confrontation, the minor reportedly brought a sword from the house. He then allegedly threatened the complainant’s son with it and issued a death threat, creating panic in the area.

Following the complaint, police registered a case and began an investigation. Officials said they are looking into all aspects of the incident, including the role of each accused.

The incident has raised concern among local residents, as superstition-related disputes continue to lead to violence in some areas. Police have appealed to citizens to avoid taking the law into their own hands and to report such issues through legal channels.
