To enhance the security measures and curb theft cases at Pune Railway Station, 160 new CCTV cameras will be operational soon.
Currently, the installation of these cameras is underway, and they will be operational within the next two months.
75 old cameras will be removed after the installation of the new CCTV cameras.
Hemant Behera, Divisional Commercial Manager of the Pune division, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said, “Currently, only 75 cameras are there at Pune Railway Station, including internal and external areas. It was not sufficient to keep an eye on each corner and platform of the railway premises. Now, the number of cameras is being doubled. These cameras are high-tech and equipped with modern technologies to cover far distances.”
The cabling work is in progress and is expected to be completed by next month.
This will help boost security measures and curb crimes such as theft and other illegal activities within the railway premises.
