NCP Workers Burn Harshvardhan Sapkal's Effigy In Beed Over Remarks Against Sunetra Pawar

Beed: Office-bearers and workers of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) staged a protest in Beed on Thursday, burning an effigy of Maharashtra Congress president Harshvardhan Sapkal and striking his photograph with footwear to condemn his alleged remarks against Deputy Chief Minister and Beed district Guardian Minister Sunetra Pawar.

The protest was organised at Bashirganj Chowk under the leadership of NCP leader Shaikh Mujib. Supporters of MLA Vijaysinh Pandit participated in the demonstration, raising slogans against Sapkal and demanding strict action against him.

During the protest, demonstrators raised slogans in support of Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, the NCP, and the late Ajit Pawar, while condemning Sapkal over his alleged comments.

Addressing the gathering, the protesters described Sunetra Pawar as a capable Deputy Chief Minister and alleged that the Congress leader had used objectionable language against her. They demanded that the Congress high command take immediate disciplinary action against Harshvardhan Sapkal and expel him from the party.

Several NCP leaders and office-bearers, including senior councillors Moin Master, Syed Sadeque Ali, Zaki Saudagar, Zaitulla Khan, Mahesh Dhande, Shaikh Bilal and Khayyum Inamdar, district vice-president Shaikh Nazar, Bhagwat Taware, Adv Syed Khaja, and several other party workers, were present at the protest.

The demonstration remained peaceful and concluded after the effigy burning and sloganeering. The Congress had not issued an immediate response to the protesters' demands at the time of filing this report.

According to reports from Parli Vaijnath, Georai and Majalgaon, similar protests were also held, where NCP-AP workers condemned Maharashtra Congress president Harshvardhan Sapkal.
