Nashik: Significant action has been taken in the case involving the sexual harassment and forced religious conversion of female employees at the TCS company in Nashik. Former AIMIM corporator Mateen Patel has been arrested in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for providing shelter at his home to the prime accused, Nida Khan.

A non-bailable warrant had been issued against Mateen Patel after he failed to appear in court despite being served a summons. Subsequently, the Nashik police arrested him. Before this, the administration had demolished his illegal constructions, including his residence and office, using bulldozers.

The Sessions Court had granted bail to Nida Khan in July. During the hearing on July 6, the Additional Sessions Court delivered this decision considering her health and the future of her unborn child, as she was five months pregnant. "No innocent unborn child should have to endure the hardships of prison or social stigma," the judge observed.

The incident involving sexual harassment, offensive remarks, and pressure to convert under the guise of religious superiority against female employees at the Nashik TCS office came to light in March 2026. The investigation revealed that the prime accused, Raza Rafiq Memon, had mentally harassed the complainant, while Nida Khan and other colleagues had assisted him.

The police have completed the majority of the investigation and filed a charge sheet. The court observed that there was no likelihood of the accused pressuring witnesses or destroying evidence.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has currently been constituted to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter. The SIT is investigating nine separate complaints, including allegations of the exploitation of female employees, outraging the modesty of women, hurting religious sentiments, and mental harassment. TCS has immediately suspended all employees suspected of involvement in the matter.

The arrest of Mateen Patel marks another significant milestone in the case. The police investigation is ongoing.
