To integrate children from remote tribal areas into the educational mainstream, the Maharashtra Tribal Public School Society (Nashik) runs 37 Eklavya Residential schools affiliated with the CBSE Board across the four Additional Commissionerate regions of Nashik, Thane, Amravati, and Nagpur. These schools provide free education, accommodation, meals, uniforms, and other facilities to students.
For the academic year 2025-26, admission to the backlog of vacant seats in classes VII, VIII, and IX will also be conducted. Each Eklavya School has an intake capacity of 60 students (30 boys and 30 girls) in class VI. Selection for these seats will be based on the preliminary examination results.
Meanwhile, Nayana Gunde, member secretary, Maharashtra Tribal Public School Society, said, "Scheduled Tribe students will be admitted to 3,269 seats in 37 Eklavya Model Residential schools through a preliminary examination.
