Karad Municipal Council was honored with an award by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), an international organization focused on pollution reduction and environmentally sustainable practices, in recognition of its exceptional and consistent performance in solid waste management. The award ceremony took place in New Delhi on December 19, where Karad Municipal Council was the only civic body from Maharashtra among the 150 organizations selected nationwide.
This recognition follows the council's stellar performance in initiatives such as Swachh Survekshan and the state government's Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan.

Chief Officer Shankar Khandare and Health Officer Girish Kakade accepted the award on behalf of the municipality from Dr. Sunita Narayan, Director of CSE.
