Family Robbed On Samruddhi Expressway: Posing As Insurance Agents, 4 Men Beat And Loot Doctor Of 15 Tolas Of Gold And Mobiles

Four robbers robbed a doctor’s family going from Mehkar to Palghar after attending a marriage ceremony on Samruddhi Expressway on Friday night. The robbers severely beat the family members and robbed them of 15 tolas of gold jewelry and mobile phones, and fled away.

Dr. Shravan Shigne and his wife Chaitali are doctors in Palghar. On April 29, they went to Mehkar to attend a marriage ceremony. They started for Palghar on the night of May 2. His wife Chaitali, son Shriraj, and mother Meena Nimbhore, were in the car on Samruddhi E-way. A car overtook their car in the Shendra area in the jurisdiction of Karmad police station and stopped their car.

Four people came out of the car and said that they were employees of an insurance company. They then took the key of the car and threatened the family members. They severely beat the family members and robbed the gold jewellery the women in the car were wearing. Dr. Shravan tried to stop the car of the robbers by dashing their car from the rear side, but they again beat him, his wife, and mother.
