‘Blessings Will Bring Prosperity’: Fake Naga Sadhu Tricks Pimpri-Chinchwad Driver, Steals Gold Ring | Representational image

Pimpri-Chinchwad: An incident occurred where a scammer posing as a Naga Sadhu tricked a car driver with the promise of blessings and stole his gold ring. The incident took place on Saturday (August 22) around 1:00 AM on the road in front of the Municipal Commissioner’s bungalow, between Morwadi Pimpri and HDFC Bank, Purnanagar, Chinchwad.

In this matter, Abhijit Ramchandra Patil (49, Thergaon) filed a complaint at the Chikhali Police Station. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against an unknown fraudulent Sadhu wearing saffron robes. While the complainant was travelling in his car, the accused asked for a lift and got inside. Posing as a Naga Sadhu, he won the complainant’s trust by convincing him that his blessings would bring him prosperity. He then asked the complainant to remove the gold ring from his finger under the pretence of touching it to his eyes, but instead of placing it near the gear shift, he surreptitiously made off with it, defrauding him. Chikhali Police are investigating the case.

Self-Proclaimed ‘Bhai’ Creates Terror

A case has come to light where a self-proclaimed ‘bhai’ (gangster) started an argument over why he was not acknowledged, assaulted a youth with an iron rod, kicked and punched him, and created terror in the area. The incident occurred on Friday (August 21) around 7:00 PM in front of the Royal Men's Wear clothing store at the Rupinagar vegetable market.

In this case, Aniket Sachin Wakale (19, Nigdi) filed a complaint at the Chikhali Police Station. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against Manmeet Singh (Yamana Nagar, Nigdi) and his 3 unidentified friends.

When the victim went to get clothes, the accused abused him for not acknowledging him. He then called 3 of his associates, dragged the victim out of the shop, brandished an iron rod in the air, and threatened him, saying, “I am the bhai of this area; if anyone steps in, I won’t spare them.” The accused severely injured the victim by striking him on the head, arms, and back, and fled after threatening to kill him. Chikhali Police are investigating the case.

Youth Carrying Pistol Arrested in Dehu Road Area

A youth was arrested for illegally possessing a pistol. The action was taken on Sunday (August 23) around 8:20 PM at Adarshnagar, Shivneri Colony, Kiwale. Aditya Kailash Kadam (20, Ravet) was arrested in the operation. A police constable filed a complaint in this regard at the Dehu Road Police Station. Violating the Police Commissioner’s prohibition order, the accused was in possession of an iron pistol worth ₹50,000 without any license. The Anti-Extortion Cell took action and seized the illegal pistol from him. Dehu Road Police are investigating the matter.

Woman Severely Injured After Being Struck by Speeding Two-Wheeler

A woman was severely injured after being hit hard by a speeding two-wheeler while crossing the road. The incident took place on Friday (August 21) around 5:20 PM on the road in front of the Mamasahaeb Khandge (Flora City) Society.

Regarding this, a woman victim filed a complaint at the Talegaon Dabhade Police Station. A case has been registered against an unidentified rider of a two-wheeler with registration number MH 14 HT 8696.

While the complainant and her sister were crossing the road with supplies from a canteen, a two-wheeler rider coming from the direction of Vadgaon drove recklessly at high speed and crashed into them. The complainant sustained severe injuries to her left thigh, while her sister suffered minor injuries. Following the accident, the rider damaged the vehicle and fled the scene. Talegaon Dabhade Police are investigating the matter.

Activa Scooter Stolen from Walhekarwadi

An incident occurred where an unknown thief stole an Activa scooter valued at ₹20,000, parked safely outside a house. The theft took place between Saturday night (August 22) and Sunday (August 23) at 7:00 AM at Chintamani Colony, Walhekarwadi.

In this case, Mahesh Pralhad Barate (53, Walhekarwadi, originally from Jalgaon) filed a complaint at the Chinchwad Police Station. A case has been registered against an unknown thief.

The complainant had parked his Honda Activa scooter (registration number MH 14 FB 6126) outside his residence. The thief stole it with dishonest intent without the owner’s consent. Chinchwad Police are investigating the case.

Youth Illegally Carrying Sickle Caught by Police

A youth illegally carrying a sharp iron sickle (koyta) in violation of preventive orders was caught. The action was taken on Sunday (August 23) around 7:30 PM in Waghire’s open field at Khalumbre.

In this case, Police Constable Keshav Chepate filed a complaint at the North Mahalunge Police Station. A case has been registered against Prashant Tanaji Rohile (19, Khalumbre, originally from Nilanga, Latur).

While an order prohibiting the possession of arms and weapons was in effect within the City Police Commissionerate jurisdiction, the accused illegally kept a sharp iron sickle with him. The patrolling police took him into custody and seized the weapon. North Mahalunge Police are investigating the matter.
