National Handloom Day 2026 was observed on August 7 by the Indian Coast Guard, Mumbai, and its units to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement of 1905 and promote indigenous handloom products. The programme featured a promotional video, awareness activities and a handloom workshop at Nagpada, encouraging personnel to use and showcase India’s diverse handloom traditions.

Mumbai: The National Handloom Day-2026 is observed annualy on 07 Aug 2026 to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement of 1905 and promote indigenous handloom products. The event witness enthusiastic participantion by Indian Coast Guard, Mumbai and unit under command.
The programme commenced with a brief address and display of promotional video highliting to promote purchasing of indigenous handloom products and organised activities pertaining to showcasing the diversity and excellence of Indian handlooms. The workshop for handloom products conducted at Nagpada, Mumbai to motivate the personnel for using Indian handloom products.
The event concluded with a group photographs by all participant to promote indigenous uses of handloom products and to motivate, all personnel for showcasing the diversity and excellence of Indian handlooms.
