Thane: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has issued a traffic advisory regarding road repair work underway on the Thane-Ghodbunder stretch near Gaymukh Pata. The project, which began at 11:55 PM on April 29, will continue until 11:55 PM on May 1. During this period, significant traffic restrictions have been implemented, especially for heavy vehicles, to prevent congestion and ensure public safety.
According to the notification issued by Assistant Commissioner of Police Chandrakat Dattatraya Bhosle, several entry points for heavy vehicles have been closed and alternative routes designated.
The repair work is being undertaken on Thane Ghodbunder State Marg 84, within the Kasarvadavali Traffic Sub-division, by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and CGBM.
Traffic Restrictions and Diversions:
From Mumbai/Thane Towards Ghodbunder Road:
Entry Closure: Y Junction and Kapurbawadi Junction.
Alternative Route A: Proceed via Nashik Road, Kharegaon Toll Naka, Mankoli, Anjurphata.
Alternative Route B: Take a right at Kapurbawadi Junction and proceed via Kasheli, Anjurphata.
From Mumbra/Kalwa Towards Ghodbunder Road:
Entry Closure: Kharegaon Toll Gate.
Alternative Route: Travel under Kharegaon Khadi Bridge via Kharegaon Toll Naka, Mankoli, Anjurphata.
From Nashik Towards Ghodbunder Road:
Entry Closure: Mankoli Naka.
Alternative Route: Take a right under Mankoli Bridge, proceed via Anjurphata.
From Gujarat/Mumbai/Virar/Vasai Towards Ghodbunder Road:
Entry Closures: Chinchoti Naka and near the Fountain Hotel.
Alternative Route: Proceed via Chinchoti Naka, Kaman, Anjurphata, Mankoli, Bhiwandi.
Exempted Vehicles:
This advisory does not apply to police vehicles, ambulances, fire brigade, oxygen gas carriers, and other emergency or essential service vehicles.
TMC and the Thane Traffic Police urged all commuters, especially heavy vehicle operators, to plan their routes accordingly and cooperate to minimise inconvenience during the road repair period.
