Thane Shocker: Young Lovers End Lives In Ambernath: Familial Opposition Suspected In Tragic Suicide

A couple died by suicide after hanging themselves from a tree in Ambernath on Friday morning. The incident took place in Kushivli village in Ambernath Taluka. The deceased have been identified as Manisha Patil and Vivek Patil, both residents of Kalyan.

The police were alerted by locals who spotted the two individuals hanging from a tree using nylon ropes.

The bodies were removed from the tree, and an ambulance was called to take them to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar for medical procedures. During the panchnama, the police noted that a motorcycle was parked nearby.

Sachin Gore, DCP of the Ulhasnagar Division, said, "During the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the couple faced opposition from their families and might have taken this drastic step. So far, we have registered an accidental death report. We have informed their family members. Our team will record the statements of their family members. Further investigation is ongoing."
