Thane News: Wall Collapses In Ulhasnagar, Worker Dies

Thane: In a shocking incident on Wednesday, a construction worker died on the spot after a wall collapsed on him. The tragic incident occurred in the OT section of Ulhasnagar Camp No. 5. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of the location and the surrounding area. The victim has been identified as Dnyaneshwar Somankar, who was trapped under the debris.

The victim was rushed to the hospital by local people, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. A family friend of the victim said, “He was the sole breadwinner of the family. If proper safety measures had been taken, this wouldn’t have happened. Who will take responsibility for his family?" according to reports by Hindustan Times.

Speaking about the matter, a local resident said “Proper precautions should have been taken before the demolition. Such accidents highlight the need for stricter safety measures at construction sites," as per the report.

An investigation has been launched by the police, and the Hill Line Police Station has registered an accidental death case. The authorities are examining the safety measures in place for workers at the construction site. Additionally, the police are working to identify those responsible for the incident.
