Thane: Mother, Grandmother Kill Disabled Daughter Out Of Frustration Over Her Health; Booked

The Naupada police have booked three women, including a mother and a grandmother, for allegedly killing a 17-year-old disabled girl by administering medication in Thane.

The accused have been identified as Snehal Pawar (39) and Surekha Mahagade (60), along with an unidentified woman, all residents of Thane. The incident took place in the Shivaji Path area on February 20.

According to the police, the deceased was disabled from birth and was unable to speak or walk. On February 15, she fell ill, and her health deteriorated. She cried throughout the night due to her ailments. On February 19, in a fit of frustration over her condition, her mother allegedly gave her medication that led to her death.

Subsequently, at around 1:30 AM on February 20, Pawar, Mahagade, and the unidentified woman carried the girl’s body and placed it in a car with the intent of disposing of it.

During the investigation, police uncovered evidence of the murder while reviewing CCTV footage from the nearby area, which captured the trio carrying the body and placing it in the car.

A case has been registered against them under Sections 103(1), 238, and 3(5) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita.
