Thane Crime: Woman Booked For Forging Birth Certificates Without Documents; Police Launch Probe
The Thane Nagar Police have booked a woman for allegedly forging a birth certificate without verifying or collecting any supporting documents. The accused has been identified as Chaitali Rajesh Kule, who runs a Paras graphics and computer typing shop near Court Naka in Thane.

Thane: The Thane Nagar Police have booked a woman for allegedly forging a birth certificate without verifying or collecting any supporting documents. The accused has been identified as Chaitali Rajesh Kule, who runs a Paras graphics and computer typing shop near Court Naka in Thane.
Forged Certificate Issued for ₹1,000 Without Verification
According to police officials, based on a tip-off received on July 24, a complaint was filed against the woman for issuing fake birth certificates for a fee of ₹1,000. Acting on the information, a dummy customer was sent to her shop to verify the allegation.
Dummy Customer Operation Leads to Discovery
Police said the dummy customer, identified as Prakash Kadam, sent the name of his friend, along with the names of the friend's parents and the date of birth, to the accused’s WhatsApp number.
Later, Kadam visited the shop and enquired about the birth certificate. The woman allegedly demanded ₹1,000 and handed over a forged certificate without asking for any verification documents.
After receiving the document, Kadam alerted the complainant, who in turn informed the Thane Nagar Police.
Senior Police Inspector Bharat Chaudhari of Thane Nagar Police Station said, "We visited the shop, conducted an inquiry, and found that the woman had indeed issued a forged birth certificate without checking any official documents."
Forgery Involves Fake Government Details
The certificate bore the name of the Maharashtra Sashan Aarogya Vibhag Brihmumbai Corporation, a registration number, the date of birth, and the names of the person and their parents.

Though no arrest has been made yet, the police have issued a notice summoning Kule to record her statement. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
