The Thane Congress Party leader expressed outrage over the failure to lift garbage across Thane city for ten days. He warned of a protest if the ruling party and civic body fail to resolve the issue.
According to TMC officials, the CP Talaw garbage transfer center serves as an interim site where waste is brought in mini vehicles, dumped temporarily, and then loaded onto heavy vehicles for transfer to the Daighar processing plant.
Despite this arrangement, locals claim that a significant amount of garbage remains at the site, making it difficult to breathe clean air. They are demanding its complete relocation.
Vikrant Chavan, a leader from the Thane Congress, held a press conference stating that for the last ten days, garbage has not been lifted from the city’s residential societies and has instead accumulated on the roadside. Chavan emphasized that the ruling party of the Thane Municipal Corporation has not taken any positive steps toward enhancing the cleanliness of the city or lifting the garbage, despite assurances given by the ruling party. Chavan asserted that the ruling party of the Thane civic body does not have a plan for garbage disposal.
Chavan warned the concerned administration that the Congress and Thanekars will protest on Thursday outside the Thane Municipal Corporation regarding the garbage lifting issues.
