Raigad Launches Rani Durgavati Scheme To Empower Tribal Women Economically
The Raigad district administration has launched the Rani Durgavati Tribal Women Empowerment Scheme to promote the overall development & economic independence of tribal women. The programme was inaugurated at the District Collector’s Office by District Collector Kishan Jawale in the presence of Chief Executive Officer Neha Bhosale & senior officials from the Women & Child Development Department.

Navi Mumbai: The Raigad district administration has launched the Rani Durgavati Tribal Women Empowerment Scheme to promote the overall development and economic independence of tribal women. The programme was inaugurated at the District Collector’s Office by District Collector Kishan Jawale in the presence of Chief Executive Officer Neha Bhosale and senior officials from the Women and Child Development Department.
As part of the Pen Project’s 2025–26 nucleus budget, two group schemes were allotted to women’s self-help groups, while four individual beneficiaries received direct assistance. “This initiative is designed to strengthen the economic foundation of tribal women, giving them greater self-reliance and opportunities for growth,” a spokesperson for the Raigad administration said.
The event also featured Raksha Bandhan celebrations, during which students from the Government Ashram School in Kolghar (Alibag) tied rakhis to the District Collector, CEO, and other dignitaries. The programme drew enthusiastic participation from tribal women across the district.
