50-Year-Old Rag-Picker Woman Dies After Being Hit By JCB At Thane Garbage Station

A 50-year-old woman, working as a garbage collector, was crushed to death by a JCB at the CP Talao dumping ground in Wagle Estate.

About The Incident

The deceased, Jayshree Balu Jadhav, a resident of Jai Bhim Nagar, CP Talao Road, was reportedly caught in the middle of a dispute when the incident occurred. According to sources, a heated argument broke out at the dumping ground, during which a stationary JCB suddenly moved, running over the woman.

The accident led to chaos at the site, with bystanders rushing to help. As soon as authorities were informed, the police and civic officials reached the spot. Following the incident, leaders from Shiv Sena (UBT) and BJP arrived at the scene, demanding a thorough investigation into the matter.

Statement Of Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Khadtade

Senior police inspector Ravindra Khadtade of Srinagar police station said they have conducted the panchnama, a case will be registered, and the accused will be arrested soon. Dr Kailash Pawar, superintendent of Thane Civil Hospital, confirmed that the post-mortem report clearly indicated that the woman died due to being crushed under the JCB.
