Passengers create ruckus at Mumbai Airport as SpiceJet flight gets delayed over 3 hours

Mumbai: A goof-up in flight schedule triggered SpiceJet passengers to create a ruckus at the Mumbai Airport as they argued over the delay of more than three hours with the ground staff there. In a video from the site, angry flyers and airport staffs were seen involved in a fight in the backdrop of a SpiceJet flight. The incident was reported on Tuesday evening.
Flight delayed over 3 hours with no prior notice
The flight was expected to start boarding at 6 pm, however until 9 in the evening the procedure had not begun. Also, no prior information on delay was passed on to the passengers, leaving them upset and angered: News channel Mirror Now.
Reason behind the ruckus at Mumbai Airport
It has been learnt that the flight was scheduled from Mumbai to Goa, and the flyers were given no facilities during their extended waiting period due to the delayed flight.
So far, no official statement from the airline company has been made in this regard.
Similar incidents
Along with SpiceJet facing issues at Mumbai, it also handled crisis in Delhi after a flight was rescheduled multiple times and delayed for about ten hours. "Spice jet SG8293 flight delayed by spicejet from 20:10 pm dated 30.05.23 to 05:00am 31.05.23 and rescheduled by 4 times, which is still expected. No arrangement of water,food,stay by them," read a tweet. It was reportedly a flight from Delhi to Gorakhpur. No official statement yet in this regard.
Earlier this year, the same route (Mumbai-Goa) faced concerns with a similar inconvenience resulted to passengers of a SpiceJet flight. In January 2023, a SpiceJet flight, bound to fly from Mumbai to Goa, was delayed by over four hours, after repeated rescheduling. This made people complain on Twitter.
