Panvel Municipal Corporation Secures 6th Rank In Swachh Survekshan 2024–25; Retains 3-Star Garbage-Free City & Water Plus Status
Panvel Municipal Corporation, has secured the 6th rank nationally in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 in the 3 to 10 lakh population category. The rankings were released by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs as part of its annual cleanliness survey.

Panvel: Panvel Municipal Corporation, has secured the 6th rank nationally in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 in the 3 to 10 lakh population category. The rankings were released by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs as part of its annual cleanliness survey.
Alongside its national ranking, Panvel city has also retained its 3-Star Garbage-Free City rating for the fourth consecutive year and continued to hold the Water Plus status under the Open Defecation Free (ODF) category, the highest possible rating for its outstanding sanitation efforts.
Panvel’s continued success is attributed to strategic planning, effective execution, and community involvement. "From household-level waste segregation to robust sewage and public toilet management, the city has demonstrated a strong commitment to hygiene and sustainability. These efforts, supported by active public participation and continuous awareness drives, have helped Panvel emerge as a model city in urban cleanliness," said an official.
Citizen engagement is further stated to have played a critical role in the achievement, with residents actively contributing through waste segregation, community initiatives, and cooperation with municipal policies.
“This achievement is just the beginning,” said Commissioner Mangesh Chitale. “We are committed to building an even cleaner, greener, and healthier Panvel.”
