Panvel Accident: Woman Dies After Falling Off Scooter, Run Over By Truck At Kalamboli Circle

A woman traveling on a scooter with her husband lost her life after falling off and getting run over by a truck at Kalamboli Circle on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred around 1.45 pm when the couple was heading from Panvel to Kamothe.

The deceased has been identified as Sangeeta Chandrakant Bellurkar (48), a resident of Khanda village in Panvel. According to police reports, as the couple approached Kalamboli Circle and the signal turned green, the truck driver suddenly turned left. In an attempt to avoid a collision, Chandrakant Bellurkar tried to steer the scooter to the side. However, Sangeeta lost balance, fell off the scooter, and came under the rear wheels of the truck. She died on the spot.

“Following an investigation, we found that the accident was a result of the truck driver's negligence. A case has been registered against the driver for causing death due to careless driving,” a police officer from Kalamboli police station said.
